Going to the dogs

The apotheosis of decadence

Pictured below is the $325,000 mansion Paris Hilton had built for her dogs, which, as you can see, are better housed than most people. At a time when more Americans than ever before are being dispossessed through no fault of their own for the further enrichment of Hilton’s economic class, this suggests that we have permitted our democratic republic to degenerate into a corrupt aristocracy. There was a time, elevenscore years ago, when such a ruling elite would have inspired suggestions to “refresh the tree of liberty with the blood of patriots and tyrants,” but perhaps such days have passed forever.

These pages all link to and similar junk sites from the slums of the internet. Further, they are filled with comments — most of which have little or no relation to the content and may as well have been computer-generated — filed by “people” with names like “payday loans.”

On the whole, “” appears to be SEO Central: a place for spammy site operators to scratch each other’s backs (what other parts they may scratch I do not wish to surmise) and advertise their exploitative “services” on one another’s sites. I hope I’m wrong about this, but I am not sanguine.

Sanguinary? That’s sometimes another matter, isn’t it?
